The OPA has only had one female champion since its inception and that is Paige Pearce. Coming into the new Bowfest on Mont du lac resort a challenger emerged in accomplished field archer Toja Ellison and it came down to Toja’s last arrow to determine the winner.
Long time pro archer Tim Gillingham came to the OPA not only looking for another win at the event but also continue his dominance outdoors. Tim did that and more shooting the high score for the entire event at 40 up. However, in the shoot off all scores go to zero and Tim had a fight on his hands trying to secure the win.
The Men’s Pro shoot-off at the 2020 OPA at Bowfest on Mont Du lac resort came down to the 2020 Vegas winner Kyle Douglas and the Vegas Runner up Jesse Broadwater on the final arrow of the event!
The Amateur Open shooters at the 2020 OPA at Bowfest held at the Mont du lac resort stepped up in the shoot-off and put on a show shooting 14’s when it mattered forcing the final arrow to determine the winner!
After 2 days of shooting in both torrential downpours and the sun Levi Morgan came into the shoot-ff with the slightest of leads. After uncharacteristically shooting 4 10’s in a row to start the shoot off Levi had to shoot an inside out bonus ring for a 12 to even stand a chance at winning by forcing a tie where would win on total bonus rings. In one of the greatest shots of his legendary career Levi hit the inside for a 12 and won the event!!
Women’s pro shoot off from the 2nd leg of the IBO triple crown in Franklin PA. Coming into thew shoot off trailing Erin McGladdery by a point long time professional archer Sharon Wallace was looking to not only make up some ground but also redeem herself after failing to capitalize on her leg at the 1st leg of the triple crown. Not only did Sharon make up that ground but she executed one of if no the greatest shoo offs in women’s history shooting 4 out of 5 inside out bonus rings for 12’s!!
Long time professional archer Tim Gillingham has been on a tear winning several in a row coming into the 2ng leg of the IBO in Franklin PA. Tim only had a 2 point lead and looked to capitalize and extend his winning streak.
The first leg of the 2020 IBO triple crown in Pipestem WV concluded with the Men’s pro shoot-off with legendary 3D archer Levi Morgan coming in with a huge lead after shooting an incredible 23 up.
Female pros began the shoot-off with Sharon Wallace out front with a commanding lead but after shooting a 5 on her first target the door was opened for the other archers to close the gap.
After shooting 40 targets for score at the first leg of the IBO in Pipestem WV dominant outdoor archer Tim Gillingham looked to restart the season atop the podium. Tim’s extensive experience in the wind proved a huge advantage enroute to the win.
